Embedded Based Portable Electro Mechanical Rudder Angle Indicatn for Boat

Abstract


Rudder  is  an  important part of boat .Rudder  is responsible for producing turning or yawing motion of ship or boat .The boat/ship must be turned at a particular range of angle ,this angle is indicated using rudder angle indicator. Rudder angle indicator is one of most important equipment used in ship .If vibration or error occurs in this, it will result in accidents. So this project is designed to develop a, portable electromechanical rudder angle indicator for boats which will be low cost and has more advantages and features as compared to the existing system.

 

If the party at fault was operating a boat under the influence of alcohol or drugs, he or she not only acted negligently, but also committed a criminal violation and can be charged with a felony or misdemeanor DWI charge   in a criminal court. So these type of accidents can be avoided by this project. If the boats angle indicated become maximum a message send to the harbor thus  immediate action  can be taken to protect the life of human .So  this project  is  meant to protect the life of people in boats or ships. Existing system is a voltmeter type and the proposed system is LCD display and does not have features like this so by adding these it will be a great contribution for marine industries from electronics field.
