Abstract

Ce doped ZnO nanoparticles with compositional formula Zn1-xCexO (where x=0.00, 0.05, 0.1 and 0.15 wt%)were synthesized by co-precipitation method and characterized by X-ray diffraction which revealed the formation of hexagonal single phase structure of all three sample. It was noticed that as concentration of Ce increases, a slight shift in diffraction angle had noticed due to intrusion of Ce in Zn lattice site. Particle size, dislocation density, lattice parameters and strain were calculated from XRD data. The functional groups were analyzed using FTIR spectroscopy. Crystal structure and crystal quality were examined by micro Raman spectra. The optical properties of all samples were studied by Photoluminescence analysis (PL) spectra.
