Effect of Annealing Temperature on Optical Properties of Cadmium Sulfide Thinfilms

Abstract


In this paper we report on effect of annealing temperature on the optical properties of CdS thin films. Cadmium sulfide (CdS) nanoparticle thin films have been prepared using cadmium sulphate as cadmium source and sodium sulphide as sulfur source. The effect of annealing on the optical properties of the prepared CdS nanocrystalline films has been studied (as deposited and annealing at 300⁰C).  The variation in band gap values of CdS thin film samples were found to be in the range of 2.48 and 2.61 eV. The optical properties of the samples were studied by UV visible spectroscopy.
