Comparative Analysis Of Image Encryption And Decryption For Securing Medical Images

Abstract


Due to the rapid growth of digital communication and multimedia application, security becomes an important issue of communication and storage of images. Especially, in Digital image processing faces several problems in recent times. Encryption and Decryption is one of the ways to ensure high security. The primary goal of this paper is security management. This will provide authentication of users, integrity, accuracy and safety of images which is traveling over internet. This paper is about encryption and decryption of images using a secret key block chipper called 64-bits blowfish algorithm which is an evolutionary improvement over DES. The original image was transformed into blocks and rearranged using blowfish algorithm. This algorithm will be used as a variable key size up to 448 bits. It employs feistel network which iterates simple function 16 times. This technique is much better than DES algorithm because of the use of block based transformation method. The blowfish algorithm is safe against unauthorized attack and run faster than DES algorithm.
