Characterization of the Zinc Oxide coated using Spin Coating Technique by FTIR

Abstract


ZnO thin films deposition was performed by sol-gel spin coating method on the glass substrate. Zinc acetate dehydrate, 2-Methoxyethanol and Monoethanolamine were used as a starting material, solvent and stabilizer respectively. The concentration of ZnO was 0.8 M. The molar ratio of MEA to zinc acetate dehydrate was kept as 1:1 and the molar ratio of mother solution (Zinc acetate dehydrate) was varied at 3 wt% with respect to Zn. Zinc acetate dehydrates  and the sources were first dissolved in a mixture of 2-Methoxyethanol and MEA solution. The solution was stirred at 70oC for 1 hour. The characterization of the substrate was studied with XRD, SEM, and TEM for the presence of ZnO and it shows the evidence of the presence of Zno and then the substrate is again studied using FTIR technique. The spectrum was obtained for F-350C, F-450C, F-500C and its characteristics were studied. FTIR spectra, depicted in Figures supply more information useful to better define composition at different temperatures.  The main reflection of this mineral could not be detected at these temperatures by the XRD but due to the higher sensitivity of FTIR technique this identification is possible.
